Welcome to SHAHESHA DINING & BAR Mukaigawara Shop, a hidden gem located in the heart of Kawasaki, Japan. Nestled at 1759-1 Ikeda Building, Nakahara Ward, this vibrant establishment specializes in authentic Indian cuisine, bringing a slice of the subcontinent to Japan. Offering a warm ambiance and swift service, it attracts both locals and expats alike, eager to indulge in rich flavors and aromatic spices.
Upon entering SHAHESHA DINING & BAR, you are welcomed by a friendly staff eager to share their passion for Indian food. The diverse menu features classic dishes like chicken tikka masala and freshly baked naan, setting the stage for a delightful culinary experience. As you explore the offerings, take note of the lunch special, known for its incredible value. Diners have shared their delight—though some caution about the hefty serving of rice. The spice levels can be surprising too; a "medium" spice may lean closer towards "hot" for those unaccustomed to intense flavors. Yet, the flavors are undeniable, as customers rave about the delightful curry that strikes a perfect balance with the accompanying naan and rice.
What enhances the experience further are the considerate gestures like complimentary mango lassi and ice cream for children, showcasing the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere for families. The friendly service has garnered praise, even easing potential language barriers with English translations available, making it accessible to everyone.
If you're a fan of generous portions at reasonable prices, SHAHESHA DINING & BAR won't disappoint. While some dishes may have minor quirks, like the naan's thickness, the overall flavor and dining experience are engaging to both newcomers and Indian cuisine aficionados. It's a place where you can dive into the heart of Indian flavors while surrounded by the friendly hustle and bustle of a popular eatery.
In conclusion, whether you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a hearty meal or a gathering place with friends, SHAHESHA DINING & BAR Mukaigawara Shop is a must-visit destination that beckons you to return for more culinary adventures!
“ This place primarily serves Indian food. Both food and service is good. Though at times this place becomes unbearable when crowded. ”
“ Although the lunch special is cheap, it comes with an overwhelming amount of rice! Luckily if you order "medium" spice like me, you'll need the rice to help balance things out. I'd evaluate their medium is closer to "HOT". Crowd Size: High Serving Speed: Fast Payment Method: Cash ”
“ The food was delicious. And the staffs are kind. They even give free mango lassi and ice cream for my child. ”
“ Visit For Indian Taste Which is Serving By Most Experience Chef you Heartly Welcome ”
“ FYI this is my first Indian/Nepal restaurant in Japan, so my prior knowledge will be based on the U.S. restaurants and Japanese restaurants in japan. (Summary at bottom if you want to skip) Service: They were very kind to me. Although there seemed to be a misunderstanding with options, it didn't take long to figure out. They offer English translations and the server will know what you want if you point and confirm. Rate:5 Food: (I got a dinner set that came with a salad, naan, chicken tikka masala, spicy level 3 [needed a reference to set the bar] plain naan, a bowl of rice, and a mango lassi. Note: all of this was for under 1200 yen Quantity: Can I just say... The pictures make everything look small... In fact everything is HUGE. The naan itself was probably 1.5x the size of my face. Compared to the U.S. they actually gave a lot more curry and chicken, but less rice. This meal would probably be the equivalent of 2x or 3x of a Japanese meal. Quality: The mango lassi was surprising. Normally the consistency is much thicker, like a smoothie due to the yogurt base. Instead this was a soft drink so it was like a light refreshing tang of mango. The curry itself was good. You could tell spices were there, despite the "creaminess" that tends to curb the intensity of flavor in most restaurants. Compared to US restaurants, it was a bit lacking in the amount of heat, but otherwise the flavor was great. The texture was slightly lumpier but I don't think it's a bad thing. The salad, I was surprised by. I don't normally like salads due to their vinegary sauce, but this one was surprisingly refreshing. The rice was pretty good too. It was cooked well, and it had a bit of infused flavor. The naan was the letdown of the night. I may have made a mistake getting a plain naan, but there is a lot you can tell by it. There weren't any burnt edges which accent a bitter flavor, and there was still a significant amount of oil. The other issue I had was that the naan was super thick. Normally I don't mind, but when you have a giant piece that is thick it becomes a task of eating rather than an enjoyment. This being said, it was good for soaking up the left over curry. Rate:3.5 Summary: At the end of the day, the deal your getting for the food/price is insane. I've definitely eaten better food, but at the same time, this is nowhere near to the worst food I've eaten. This is probably one of the better spots in comparison to the US, and if I compared the prices too, this would absolutely be a steal. Comparing this to Japan, I would say it's not as crazy as the 500 yen lunches at fastfood places, but it's not far off. Suggestion: If you have a small stomach, just get a dish (no set). Overall I would rate this a 4.2 and plan on coming again. ”
